Somerset Domiciliary care

Introduction

Most people live independently in their own homes. However if you are frail or have long-term care needs, this can be difficult without the help and support of other people or services.

Help with personal care at home and other practical household tasks is usually called home care or domiciliary care and is provided by domiciliary care agencies.

A range of help is available but sometimes it is difficult to find out about it or know who to ask for information.

This website gives advice and information about domiciliary care in Somerset and:

  • What to expect from agencies that provide domiciliary care services
  • What Somerset County Council can provide
  • A complete list of all registered domiciliary care agencies in Somerset
  • Links to other useful websites for advice, information and inspection reports.
